The Client

Our client is a long-established independent builders’ merchant in Galway with over 150 years of heritage, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Plumbing and Heating Manager to oversee their Plumbing Trade Counter, Bathroom Studio, and Waterford Stanley Showrooms. With a diverse customer base ranging from trade professionals to retail customers, this role presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead a key division of the business.

This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for someone with strong sales acumen and a background in plumbing and heating. You’ll lead a team of three, drive revenue growth, and maintain the company’s high standards of customer service and operational excellence.

The Ideal Candidate

You enjoy leading a team, optimizing stock levels, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You’re comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment and bring a collaborative mindset to achieve business goals. Your communication skills and product knowledge position you as a trusted advisor to both colleagues and customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of three staff across the Plumbing Trade Counter, Bathroom Studio, and showrooms
• Drive sales and increase profit margins in plumbing, heating, and bathroom product lines
• Work with the buying and warehouse teams to manage stock levels in line with supplier agreements and company policy
• Maintain high standards of service and presentation across the showrooms and trade counter
• Strengthen relationships with existing and new customers in collaboration with the wider branch team
• Support senior management with strategic planning and the achievement of business objectives

Key Competencies & Skills

• Several years of sales experience, ideally within plumbing or bathroom retail/showroom environments
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage stock and collaborate with internal departments
• Knowledge of plumbing and heating products with the ability to provide expert advice
• A proactive, service-oriented approach with a focus on results

Package & Benefits

• Competitive salary: €40,000–€50,000 DOE
• Full-time, permanent role
• 5-day work week (including alternate Saturdays or one-in-three Saturdays)
