Our Architecture and Building Engineering Group is actively seeking a dynamic Supervisor to lead our Plumbing and Fire Protection unit. We’re looking for a leader who thrives on solving complex challenges, excels in mentorship, and is eager to inspire and guide a team toward success.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide strong leadership and support to the team to ensure department policies and procedures are followed
- Oversee team production and ensure quality control measures to maintain high technical standards on all technical work
- Actively support and contribute to business development initiatives
- Review and approve staff timesheets and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Mentoring staff and providing professional development opportunities
- Manage staff resources and balance workloads effectively by collaborating with other managers.
- Partner with HR and leadership to strategically expand the team and enhance skill sets.
- Collaborate with the Department Manager regarding strategic planning related to growth and development of the team.
- Some travel may be required.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a combination of education and/or experience totaling 7 years of relevant experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, plumbing, or architectural engineering (or relevant degree) plus 3 years of experience;
- OR associate degree in mechanical, or architectural engineering (or relevant degree) plus 5 years of experience;
- OR no degree plus 7 years of relevant experience
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- 12+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred
- PE License in any state with the ability to obtain in other states strongly preferred
- Prior Supervisory experience a plus
- Designing plumbing systems for building projects
- Designing fire protection systems for building projects
- Managing projects and providing technical oversight
- Leading a team and managing workload
- Mentoring project staff
- Business development tasks (client relationships and proposal development)
