We are a family owned and operated construction company focused on Arizona’s nuclear and fossil fuel plant maintenance needs. We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team!
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing industrial construction projects from start to finish. This includes managing budgets, schedules, safety, subcontractors, and quality while ensuring alignment with company goals and customer expectations. This individual will work closely with the project teams and the General Manager for successful completion of the goals aligned to the company’s strategic plans. This position is primarily located at the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant but can also be needed at other facilities.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage project schedules using tools like MS Project or P6
- Plan work sequences in coordination with the General Manager and field teams
- Forecast labor, materials, and subcontractor needs; adjust proactively
- Lead project kickoff meetings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
Financial Oversight
- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets
- Track and report on job costs, productivity, and earned value
- Create and approve invoices, review change orders, and manage billing in collaboration with accounting
- Ability to understand payment schedules on contracts to ensure projects maintain a positive cash flow
- Ability to forecast current project billing cycles and projected projects each quarter with accuracy
Field Coordination
- Support and communicate with superintendents and foremen to keep daily activities aligned with goals
- Visit job sites regularly to ensure safety, progress, and quality control
- Resolve field-level challenges quickly and decisively
Client & Subcontractor Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers
- Manage subcontractor relationships and performance
- Facilitate coordination between multiple trades and vendors
- Create new relationships for the long term
- Utilize Zoho for customer relationship tracking and management
Safety & Quality
- Enforce and promote company safety culture and protocols
- Support the Safety Manager in incident investigations or audits
- Ensure work is completed to company and industry quality standards
Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular progress updates to the General Manager and executive team
- Produce and document RFI responses, submittals, change orders and project correspondence
- Use project management software for tracking and transparency
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide guidance and mentorship to foremen and newer staff
- Foster accountability and professionalism across the team
- Assist in performance reviews of field personnel when needed
- Be an ideal team player (Hungry, Humble, Smart)
The successful candidate will have:
- 8–10 years of project management experience in industrial and commercial construction
- Strong working knowledge of civil, mechanical, and structural scopes
- Proven ability to manage $1M–$10M+ projects concurrently
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, or equivalent)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management would help but is not required
- Open to growth and teaching
