We are seeking a Production Scheduler / Planner to support our operations team in ensuring efficient production flow, accurate scheduling, and on-time delivery to customers.

 

Position Summary

The Production Scheduler / Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating daily and weekly production schedules. This role works closely with purchasing, production, and logistics to ensure materials, capacity, and labor are aligned to meet production targets and customer demand.

 

Key Responsibilities

Production Scheduling

  • Create and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer orders, forecasted demand, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with production leads and supervisors to confirm resource availability and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Monitor work orders and job progress to ensure on-time completion and identify potential delays or bottlenecks.
  • Update and distribute schedules to relevant departments.

Material Planning & Coordination

  • Review material availability to support scheduled production runs.
  • Communicate material shortages or potential issues with purchasing and inventory teams.
  • Work with procurement to ensure critical components and materials are ordered in time to support production schedules.

Data & Reporting

  • Enter and maintain accurate data in the ERP/MRP system to reflect production schedules, priorities, and status updates.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and lead time performance.
  • Support continuous data accuracy and integrity within planning and scheduling modules.

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, engineering, and shipping teams to coordinate workflow and ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Communicate changes in schedule or priorities clearly and promptly to all stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily or weekly production meetings to review progress and resolve scheduling issues.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline scheduling and planning processes.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials coordination in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator who can coordinate across multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices a plus.
