Position Overview:
We are seeking a Traveling Superintendent to join our team. The Superintendent will serve as the on-site supervisor and construction manager, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the construction of building thermal projects and general contracting projects. This position is responsible for managing the on-site safety program for each project including all required safety paperwork and performing QA/QC spot checks. The Superintendent will supervise ATS field crews and coordinate complimentary work by other subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily reports, meeting logs, schedules, photos, drawings, punch lists, and project documents in a cloud-based system.
- Oversee work progress to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Manage workflows to meet construction schedules and supervise installation tasks, including insulated panels, vapor barriers, trim, and doors.
- Interpret blueprints for equipment placement and cold storage system construction.
- Supervise crew and contractors to ensure productivity, efficiency, safety, and timely completion of tasks.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct meetings, and ensure compliance with required training and paperwork.
- Report purchases and maintain Company-issued equipment, vehicles, and trailers, ensuring regular upkeep.
- Lead meetings, set goals, and outline plans for crews and subcontractors.
- Maintain project documentation and uphold client construction standards and procedures.
- Report accidents or incidents immediately and secure Company property, vehicles, and sites.
- Enforce housekeeping standards for job sites, vehicles, and equipment, adhering to protocols during special circumstances (e.g., COVID-19).
- Maintain Company-issued devices and comply with usage guidelines.
- Support business operations and promote ATS’s Mission, Vision and Core Values.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience, with a minimum of 2 years specializing in cold storage facilities.
- Must have the necessary physical stamina to be able to work for extended hours or workdays
- Knowledge of the principals of cold storage construction, including freezer and cooler construction details, vapor barriers, as well as installation of cold storage doors and underfloor insulation is a plus
- OSHA 40 certification (required).
- Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and client relationship management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license
- Bilingual is preferred, but not required
Travel Requirements:
- This position involves extensive travel to project sites across the U.S.
