Structural Engineer/Project Manager – Bend, Oregon (In-Office Preferred)
HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Structural Engineer/Project Manager on behalf of a respected structural engineering firm based in Bend, Oregon. Known for its collaborative approach, technical excellence, and strong client relationships, this firm works on a range of commercial, residential, and institutional projects and is poised for continued growth. This is a full-time position with a strong preference for in-office presence in Bend to support collaboration, project visibility, and mentorship. However, remote candidates based in Arizona or Montana may be considered based on experience and alignment with the role.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to contribute at both the project and firm level. The ideal candidate will lead structural engineering efforts from schematic design through construction, while also mentoring junior staff and engaging in business development activities to help grow the client base. Strong communication skills and a well-rounded technical foundation are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and oversee structural drawings and design calculations
- Coordinate directly with general contractors, architects, and design team members
- Conduct site visits and structural observations
- Guide design engineers and junior staff through mentorship and technical oversight
- Manage project scope, schedule, and design budget from start to finish
- Participate in client-facing activities, including proposal writing and relationship development
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis preferred)
- PE license required; SE license preferred
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally with project management responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of the International Building Code, design standards, and construction methods
- Experience designing with wood (70% of projects), as well as steel and concrete
- Proficiency in Revit or other CAD software is preferred
- Capable of adapting code requirements to practical construction and design challenges
- Skilled at maintaining project timelines and budget while balancing client needs
- Enthusiastic mentor and team contributor with a collaborative and approachable style
- Must be based in Bend or willing to relocate – relocation assistance is available
- Remote candidates located in Arizona or Montana will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000+ DOE
- Bonus: Quarterly performance bonus + Profit Sharing Plan
