Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Toronto

Salary: $60,000-65,000


Overview:

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to support the finance team by ensuring timely, accurate processing of payments and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal teams. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of AP procedures, solid organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices across multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review and reconcile employee expense reports in accordance with company policy
  • Prepare and reconcile corporate credit card transactions; support intercompany chargebacks
  • Execute various forms of payments, including EFTs, wire transfers, and cheques
  • Maintain and organize AP files and documentation to support reporting and audits
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in vendor accounts; manage inquiries professionally
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure expenses are recorded in the appropriate periods
  • Support month-end processes by providing accurate expense data and documentation
  • Ensure all transactions comply with internal financial controls and external regulations
  • Assist with audit requests by preparing supporting documentation as needed
  • Participate in process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the AP function
  • Take on additional accounting or administrative tasks as required


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5–6 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
  • Solid understanding of AP workflows and vendor management best practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams and external vendors
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
