We are currently in search of an Accountant for a Nonprofit Accounting Firm that specializes in outsourced accounting services for small to mid-level nonprofits. This is a Full-Time, Hybrid position located in North Haledon, NJ with a salary of $60,000- $70,000.

ORGANIZATION: Nonprofit Accounting Firm

LOCATION: North Haledon, NJ- Hybrid (1-2 days/week in office, 3-4 remote)

POSITION TITLE: Accountant

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

DURATION: Permanent

SALARY: $57,000- $70,000

Is This Your Dream Job? The Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in providing customized bookkeeping and overall accounting and financial management services to clients. Clients consist of small to mid-sized nonprofit organizations.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• 2+ years experience in accounting/bookkeeping experience required
• Able to manage full cycle accounting tasks for small businesses/nonprofits
• Proven ability to manage competing deadlines or multiple client portfolios
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• QuickBooks Online strongly preferred
• Bill.com preferred

How You Will Spend Your Day: 

• Process payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable for assigned clients
• Ensure accounts receivable and accounts payable are current (less than 90 days)
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Review and post-investment account activity
• Review all uncleared checks and deposits for items over 120 days
• Analyze and prepare financial statements monthly for the Accounting Manager’s/Director’s review
• Manage annual audits and ensure all required schedules are completed in a timely manner
• Assist clients with the preparation of Form 990, 1099’s, and other benefit, tax and regulatory schedules
• Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks on an as-needed basis
