We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Development Assistant to support an Education Nonprofit. This role is full-time, temporary opportunity located in New York City.


ORGANIZATION: Education Nonprofit

LOCATION: New York, NY- Midtown

POSITION TITLE: Development Assistant

SCHEDULE: 35 hours/week

DURATION: Temporary (~3 months)

HOURLY RATE: $19.00-$21.00

The Development Assistant will be responsible for maintaining donor records, assist with fundraising materials and correspondence, and supporting the planning of donor events and campaigns. The Development Assistant will also conduct donor research, prepare reports, and provide key administrative support to the development team. Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 6+ months of development experience required
  • Proven experience working in CRM systems (Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, ect.)
  • Experience writing acknowledgment letters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Enter gifts into DonorPerfect
  • Update records for donors as new information is received either directly or from staff
  • Process acknowledgment letters using Mail Merge
  • Support the planning and execution of upcoming gala, including processing registrations
  • Conduct donor research and prepare reports as needed
  • Provide other administrative support to the development team as requested
