Search conducted exclusively by UHC Solutions

Why This Role?

UHC Solutions has been exclusively retained to recruit Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists for San Ysidro Health, a nationally recognized Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven, patient-centered team without the burnout culture of corporate medicine. You’ll have the chance to practice psychiatry the way it was meant to be practiced—collaboratively, compassionately, and with the time necessary to treat children, adolescents, and young adults.

The Opportunity – Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

San Ysidro Health seeks a psychiatrist to provide care for children, adolescents, and young adults (up to age 30) with a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions, from mild to severe.

Your role includes:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management
  • Longer appointment times: 60-minute intake sessions and 45-minute follow-ups
  • Consultation with pediatricians, PCPs, and behavioral health clinicians to guide treatment plans
  • Crisis intervention and suicide risk assessments when needed
  • Participation in treatment teams, quality initiatives, and supervision/teaching opportunities

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will care for youth and young adults within an integrated, team-based model that includes pediatricians, primary care providers, and behavioral health clinicians. Psychiatrists are supported with protected time for thorough evaluations and follow-ups rather than high-volume, short appointments. Care is delivered through Epic EHR with workflows that fully integrate behavioral health and primary care.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Salary: Starting at approximately $301,000 for Board-Certified psychiatrists, with a structured, tiered model based on experience and tenure (aligned with $144.71–$203.85/hr). This ensures competitive compensation for both early-career and experienced Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists.
  • Performance Bonus: 10% annually, beginning after year one
  • Loan Forgiveness: PSLF eligible, with strong internal support for application
  • CME: $3,200 + 5 CME days
  • Insurance: FTCA malpractice (with tail coverage)
  • Retirement: 403(b) with employer contribution
  • PTO: 15–25 vacation days + 5 sick + 9.5 holidays

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Board-Certified / Board-Eligible in Psychiatry with a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Experience in outpatient or community psychiatry strongly preferred
  • Resilient, collaborative, and committed to cultural humility and serving underserved communities
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Arabic highly valued
