We are looking for an Applications Manager II to oversee the administration, upkeep, and escalated support of critical business applications. This role will gather requirements from stakeholders, assess needs, and translate them into system objectives and solutions. The manager will contribute to solution design through models, process mapping, and feasibility assessments, while also preparing resource estimates and project plans to guide IT prioritization and decision-making.

This position requires creating and maintaining documentation to support daily operations and long-term development of applications. The manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain solutions, while also assisting senior leadership in shaping short-term policy and strategy execution. Challenges in this role will be significant, though not typically highly complex.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the ongoing administration, patching, and updates of assigned applications, managing support escalations, defect tracking, and system enhancements.
• Lead release management processes including testing, change management, communication planning, deployment strategies, and rollback procedures.
• Collaborate with IT groups and business partners to create, update, and improve operational processes, procedures, and documentation that ensure scalable and adaptable environments.
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate projects, initiatives, and escalated requests, ensuring effective communication and alignment across stakeholders.
• Provide leadership in developing process improvements and operational efficiencies in line with direction from senior management.
• Ensure practices and policies are clearly communicated and consistently followed by stakeholders, users, and direct reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of professional experience in areas such as application management, systems analysis, IT support leadership, technology process development, or business application analysis.
• At least 2 years of direct people-management experience with responsibility for team members.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, UML) with hands-on application.
• Strong background in business and application analysis, with the ability to translate requirements into actionable system improvements.
• Skilled communicator with excellent written, verbal, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to introduce and execute process improvements with direction from leadership.
