Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily import operations including ocean and air freight shipments from origin to final delivery
• Manage and mentor a team of import coordinators and customer service professionals
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, documentation requirements, and company SOPs
• Coordinate closely with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking partners
• Monitor shipment timelines, resolve service issues, and maintain high service levels for clients
• Implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the import department
• Support pricing requests, quoting, and account management when needed
• Track KPIs and provide reporting on import performance and service metrics
• 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding or international logistics, with a focus on imports
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong understanding of ocean and air import processes, documentation, and compliance requirements
• Experience working with customs brokers and regulatory guidelines
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment while managing multiple shipments and priorities
