Mechanical Design Engineer

Fargo, ND – Full Time

 

Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Fargo, ND. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will plan, coordinate, and perform product design, testing and/or analysis work for a complete project of moderate scope or for a significant portion or a sub-system of a major and diverse project. Operate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors. 


Duties:

  • Apply knowledge of company products, policies and practices to provide economies through standardization of parts and products.
  • Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications.
  • Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
  • Develop and/or execute test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
  • Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations.
  • Execute high level applications to more complex problems.
  • Analyze assignments and determine engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope. 


Requirements:

  • BA in Electrical Design Engineering, with 2 to 3 years of prior experience or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, with 2 to 3 years of prior experience or Mechatronics Engineering, with 2 to 3 years of prior experience.
  • Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools.
  • Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge.
  • Knowledge/familiarity with circuit analysis and troubleshooting (schematics, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases. (2 - 3 years).
  • Engineering experience troubleshooting circuits. (2 - 3 years).
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems. (2 - 3 years).
  • Electro-mechanical automation or robotics experience. (1- 2 years).
  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems. (2 - 3 years).
  • Product engineering design experience. (2 -3 years).
  • Component and fixture tolerance stack-up analysis (GD&T).
  • Electrical troubleshooting and circuit analysis.
  • Torque, strain and acceleration instrumentation and analysis.
