We are looking for a well-established and growing financial institution is seeking a Mortgage Consultant to join its high-performing residential lending team. Position Summary:

The Mortgage Consultant will be responsible for originating residential mortgage and home equity loans through proactive networking and exceptional client service. This is a field-based role requiring the ability to develop referral relationships with realtors, builders, and financial professionals, while also supporting clients through all stages of the mortgage process—from initial consultation through closing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of mortgage business through external networking and internal referrals
  • Meet with clients off-site or at local branches to assess their financial needs and recommend appropriate loan products
  • Enter and manage application data in the loan origination system
  • Collaborate closely with loan fulfillment and processing teams to ensure smooth, compliant transactions
  • Maintain current knowledge of mortgage lending regulations (RESPA, Reg Z, HMDA, etc.)
  • Participate in community outreach and educational events promoting homeownership


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of mortgage lending or comparable sales experience
  • Active S.A.F.E. Act registration (or ability to obtain upon employment)
  • Strong communication, time management, and relationship-building skills
  • Familiarity with mortgage regulatory compliance and loan documentation
