Job Summary:
The Accounting Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing essential support to the finance team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and manage collections.
- Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements.
- Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and handle payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the finance team in budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Generate financial reports and summaries for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and records.
- Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
