Culinary driven hospitality brand with both individual restaurants and luxury hotel locations is seeking a Director of Finance & Strategy. The Director of Finance & Strategy oversees all financial operations across a multi-outlet hospitality property, ensuring financial health, strategic planning, and compliance. This role is responsible for driving fiscal discipline, optimizing performance, and setting the foundation for future enterprise-level financial leadership. This individual is expected to grow into a broader strategic role over time. This role could fast track to the CFO opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
• Lead all aspects of financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and capital planning.
• Analyze operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue growth, and process improvements.
• Monitor financial performance metrics, implement corrective actions, and deliver high-level reporting to executive stakeholders.
Financial Operations & Compliance
• Oversee daily accounting, internal controls, reporting, and audit readiness across all outlets.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory reports.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial requirements, including oversight of licenses, permits, and contracts.
Team & Cross-Departmental Collaboration
• Partner with department heads and hotel operators to guide fiscally responsible decision-making.
• Manage, mentor, and develop finance team members; lead the finance department in alignment with organizational goals.
• Facilitate collaboration with culinary, operations, and HR teams to align financial planning with broader business strategies.
Cash & Asset Management
• Take ownership of cash flow planning, working capital management, and investment strategy.
• Safeguard organizational assets through effective systems, controls, and documentation protocols.
• Oversee relationships with banks, insurers, and financial service providers.
Technology & Data Analytics
• Leverage financial systems and tools to enhance forecasting, scenario planning, and reporting accuracy.
• Drive automation and reporting efficiencies using platforms like M3 and Excel.
• Provide actionable insights via dashboards and presentations that inform decision-making across departments.
Administrative & Regulatory Oversight
• Build and maintain documentation systems for AP, AR, payroll, reconciliation, insurance, and vendor compliance (W-9s, contracts, etc.).
• Manage legal and audit functions, including internal, external, and regulatory reviews.
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• 6–10+ years of progressive financial management experience.
• Experience in hospitality or food & beverage industries preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing teams, audits, and financial systems at scale.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and accounting software (M3 preferred).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-outlet environment with integrity and strategic vision.
