Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Part-time)


Location: San Mateo County, CA


Compensation: $72.10 per hour


Type: Full or part-time

Role Overview


The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be responsible for delivering high-quality comprehensive primary care to patients at our client's free healthcare clinics. This role includes taking patient histories, performing physical exams, ordering laboratory tests, diagnosing illnesses, and providing treatment. The APP may also prescribe medications (with the appropriate furnishing license) and dispense medications as needed. The role operates under the supervision of the Medical Director and the Associate Director(s), following the scope of licensure.



Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver exemplary primary care to patients, including taking histories, performing exams, and determining treatments.
  • Prescribe medications and dispense from the clinic dispensary.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and management to ensure high-quality care.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of medical and psychosocial information in patient records.
  • Assist in training and guiding the clinic's volunteer workforce.



Requirements


  • Active Advance Practice License as a Nurse Practitioner (preferred) or Physician Assistant in California.
  • Furnishing number for Nurse Practitioners.
  • DEA and NPI numbers.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in family or internal medicine.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desired.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to comply with HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations.



Additional Information

This position is full or part-time, non-exempt, and requires occasional travel between locations. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced clinic environment and maintain professional boundaries.
