Technical Service Manager

Location: Orlando, FL

Travel: Up to 50%

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Up to $75.00 per hour plus overtime


Overview

A nationally recognized electrical testing and power services organization is seeking a Technical Service Manager to lead operations in the Orlando market.

This is a working leadership role combining technical depth, team development, and operational ownership.

The Technical Service Manager will oversee daily execution, mentor field technicians, support customer relationships, and remain technically billable as business needs dictate.

Active NETA certification is preferred but not required on day one. Candidates must be technically proficient and willing to pursue certification advancement.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Direct day-to-day operations of assigned location

• Coordinate scheduling and manpower across projects

• Ensure safe, high-quality, and profitable execution

• Address customer and team concerns proactively

Technical Oversight

• Review quotes and conduct job walks

• Audit field work and review test reports

• Ensure compliance with NETA, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA standards

• Support both relay and apparatus testing scopes


Team Development

• Hire, mentor, and develop field technicians

• Conduct performance reviews and set development goals

• Foster a safety-first, accountability-driven culture


Financial & Performance Alignment

• Review projects to ensure margin targets are achieved

• Support leadership in strategic growth initiatives

• Maintain strong client communication and service standards


Required Experience

• 5+ years in electrical testing, commissioning, or utility-facing power services

• Strong knowledge of relay testing, breakers, MCCs, and distribution systems

• Familiarity with NETA standards and electrical safety compliance

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience

• Ability to travel up to 50%

• Military electrical backgrounds highly regarded
