Machine Operator – 3 Shift

We’re working with a well-established, high-performing FMCG manufacturing business in Port Talbot who are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a Machine Operator.

This is a hands-on production role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where you will be responsible for operating machinery, monitoring production processes and ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.

 

3 Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday only

Week 1: 6.00am – 2.00pm, Week 2: 2.00pm – 10.00pm, Week 3: 10.00pm – 6.00am

Role Responsibilities:

  • Operating and monitoring high-speed production machinery within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Ensuring production lines run efficiently while maintaining quality and output targets
  • Carrying out quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet required specifications and standards
  • Supporting machine setup, adjustments and changeovers between production runs
  • Identifying faults, defects or production issues and reporting concerns promptly to minimise downtime and waste
  • Assisting with basic machine troubleshooting and supporting maintenance teams where required
  • Maintaining accurate production records and completing all associated paperwork correctly
  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensuring compliance with all health & safety procedures
  • Supporting housekeeping and cleanliness standards across the production area
  • Working collaboratively with production teams and shift colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve production efficiency and reduce waste

 

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within a fast paced manufacturing or production environment (Preferably precision engineering/ medical/ food/ clean environment
  • Good attention to detail and quality awareness
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and flexible approach to work
  • Ability to follow processes and health & safety procedures accurately
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
