Business Unit Overview: Private Wealth Solutions (PWS)

Private Wealth Solutions was established to meet increasing demand for Blackstone products from high-net-worth investors. We partner with global private banks, wealth management firms, and family offices to deliver Blackstone’s full suite of alternative investment products. PWS also provides ongoing advisor support, education, and training around alternative investments.

Role Overview: Investor Services

This role sits within the PWS Investor Services team in Tokyo and may focus on either or both of the following key areas:

1. Client Services & Service Provider Oversight

• Act as the main point of contact for Sub-advisory partners, including local asset managers, distributors, and fund administrators.
• Collaborate closely with internal business units (e.g., PWS, Private Equity, Credit, Hedge Funds, and Real Estate).
• Resolve complex service issues independently while maintaining strong connections with relevant teams.

2. Onboarding & Strategic Initiatives

• Lead investor services efforts in fund onboarding in collaboration with clients and internal/external stakeholders.
• Manage cross-functional working groups as a project manager for both open- and closed-end funds across domestic and offshore platforms.
• Design and oversee operational service models to ensure delivery excellence for both clients and business partners.

General Responsibilities (Both Areas)

• Plan, implement, and enhance investor service models and workflows.
• Ensure high-quality and timely service delivery by supporting team initiatives and individual responsibilities.
• Help develop and mentor junior team members where needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience in the fund management or financial services industry (e.g., investor services, onboarding, client services, or project management)
• Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English (verbal and written)
• Solid technical and analytical capabilities
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and deadline-driven environment
• Strong project management and multitasking abilities
• Independent, proactive work ethic with a collaborative mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred:

• Knowledge of collective investment schemes and fund operating models
• Familiarity with fund legal documentation
• Understanding of alternative investment products
• Possession of relevant local financial product sales licenses
