Remote | Product Development Team | Advancing Next-Generation 9-1-1 Solutions
DATAMARK Technologies is modernizing the future of emergency response. As a national leader in Next-Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) software and data solutions, we help public safety organizations deliver faster, smarter, and more reliable emergency services. Our team is transforming legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native platforms that make a difference when every second counts.
About the Role
We’re seeking a .NET Engineer with a passion for observability, reliability, and clean instrumentation. In this role, you’ll standardize and implement structured logging and telemetry across our .NET product portfolio—helping unify how data flows from our applications to our monitoring systems. You’ll lead the introduction of OpenTelemetry, collaborate closely with development and operations teams, and build the foundation for actionable insights across our NG9-1-1 Core Services ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
- Define and implement a consistent structured logging strategy across all .NET products using Serilog.
- Introduce and maintain OpenTelemetry-based instrumentation for distributed tracing and metrics collection.
- Partner with product teams to ensure observability standards are consistently applied across all Core Services components.
- Collaborate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to understand monitoring needs and deliver meaningful telemetry.
- Build and maintain integrations with Datadog while ensuring flexibility for alternative platforms in the future.
- Create documentation and developer tooling that empower teams to adopt observability practices independently.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience developing distributed .NET applications (3+ years) - Specifically in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
- Observability mindset - Experience instrumenting applications by emitting metrics, logs and traces.
- Demonstrated ownership of an observability or monitoring initiative - Describe the initiative and its objectives.
- Cross-team communication & documentation - Has established and promoted patterns and practices across development teams and operations.
- Mentorship - Has coached other teams and promoted best practices.
Bonus Points
- Experience with specific observability platforms and technologies - Datadog, Serilog and OpenTelemetry
- Kubernetes experience - Member of a team that designed, deployed, or operated containerized .NET applications on Kubernetes. Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) a plus.
- DevOps & CI/CD proficiency - Has built and maintained CI/CD pipelines using tools like Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Ansible.
- Public Safety or Mission-Critical Domain Experience - Has worked in NG9-1-1, emergency services, healthcare, or another highly regulated domain.
- OpenTelemetry SDK usage in any language (C# preferred) - Shows familiarity with vendor-agnostic standards.
