Mid-Level Structural Engineer

looking for a Structural Engineer who will be responsible for the design and construction document production for projects ranging in size from small commercial up to thirty story mid-rise towers. The candidate should possess strong design skills in steel, conventional and post-tensioned concrete and timber construction. A working knowledge of structural design and drafting programs such as RAM Structural System, ETABS, ADAPT, Elements/STAAD, Concept, AutoCAD and REVIT is preferred. The candidate must have a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and the ability to become licensed in the State of Louisiana.

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing feasibility studies and estimating materials. The role will also require you to apply engineering principles to the design process of several kinds of buildings and their structural elements. All engineers must meet deadlines, so effective time management skills are important.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret design drawings and calculations.
• Perform structural analysis, such as evaluating stresses and deformations in beams, columns and frames.
• Develop pile plans and pile cap design.
• Investigate construction materials, like concrete and steel.
• Review construction methods, quality of materials and building safety standards.
