This position provides an opportunity for an entry level structural engineer to join the GEL team of engineering and environmental scientists to provide a comprehensive range of services to our clients in civil, structural, and environmental engineering, surveying and environmental consulting. What You’ll Learn and Achieve: Specific Duties: Perform project work under supervision of Senior Engineer. Perform condition assessments and structural inspections. Document observations in a thorough, legible, and methodical manner. Prepare reports, which include photo documentation thatsummarize site observations. Inspections will include buildings, waterfront facilities, municipal infrastructure, bridges, and special structures. Perform structural analysis and design for rehabilitation and strengthening of existing facilities and new design of industrial and municipal structures. Perform construction oversight and field documentation. Coordinate design efforts with various other professional disciplines including site/civil, geotechnical, surveying, hydrogeological, and environmental. General Duties: Interact with others and carry out all work‐related activitiesin a manner which demonstrates a high level of professionalism. Specifically, individuals in this position will be required to: Maintain knowledge base of codes, regulations and guidelines relevant to required areas of specialty and appropriately applies this knowledge to consulting requirements for the client’s project requirements. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the latest technology and software available. Demonstrate a willingness to be supportive of and encouraging to other members of the organization. Understand and use good health and safety procedures. Complete projects and handle multiple tasks appropriately while maintaining quality results. What Makes You a Great Fit: BS in Civil Engineering required 2+ years experience with structural engineering preferred Construction management experience and knowledge of surveying principals are a plus EIT required. Ability to obtain PE licensure within 4 years. Excellent oral and written communication skills Word and Excel experience required AutoCAD experience preferred
