SUMMARY

Any and all of the following may be required responsibilities dependent upon service time and experience within the production area: Cleans interiors of processing tanks to remove emulsions and encrustation's. Follows directions on batch cards of individual mixtures to make coatings. Controls and operates equipment that mix and manufacture paint, lacquer, and stain. Tints production batches to match color standards. Fills produced material into various containers as specified by the batch ticket fill card. Packages, labels and moves finished goods to the shipping department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Produces products by obtaining, weighing, mixing and/or grinding raw materials following directions specified on batch cards.
  • Work includes operating equipment such as pumps, lines, valves, tanks, sand mills, viscometer, filters, and/or measurement devices.
  • Operates lift truck to transport items for use, filling, or distribution, and storage.
  • Loads and moves materials to work area. Maintains record of materials used and produced.
  • Tints batches as necessary to meet color standards of batch.
  • Filters paint.
  • Fills material into containers as specified on batch ticket.
  • Assembles filled containers and places orders on pallets, conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. Marks all containers with identifying information.
  • Assures quality of all work conforms to company and/or customer standards.
  • Unloads tankers.
  • Disposes of waste materials in accordance to regulatory and company guidelines. Labels, inspects and documents hazardous waste stored in waste tanks.
  • Maintains tank identification numbers.
  • Cleans work area and equipment. Maintains an orderly work area.
  • Cleans tanks.
  • Report any problem regarding machinery or materials to the production supervisor.
  • Completes any other assignments that the production supervisor deems necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Valid driver's license and forklift operator's certificate. Forklift training is available as necessary.
