Threader Operator (Extrusion Dept) – 1st Shift
Entry Level - $15.00/hour
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Train to operate a CNC machine to thread ceramic cores and inspect product for defects in accordance with the standard operating procedure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follow documented job specific work instructions.
• Ability to learn how to operate the extruder, grinder, threader, and saw safely.
• Visually inspect the product while performing the operation and identify defects.
• Maintain the required process documentation and paperwork daily.
• Produce quality ceramic rods/cores, meeting production goals and quality requirements.
• Communicate any issues to your Lead Person and/or Supervisor and Engineering immediately.
• Keep all equipment and work area clean and organized.
• Communicate effectively with lead person, supervisor, and fellow operators.
• Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 6S activity.
• Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations.
Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Good communication skills and mechanical aptitude needed
• Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
• Willingness to cross-train in other company job functions is expected
• Excellent attendance & dependability a must
• Set-ups may be required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift (plus overtime, when required)
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices;
and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
