
Process Technician
3rd shift: 10:30pm – 7am
$30-35.00 / Hour
Responsibilities:
- Perform process adjustments to optimize cycle time and reduce scrap,
- Document process changes during shift and maintain daily process history logs
- Run first articles to ensure press is ready for operation
- Perform process capability studies and record results, perform mold/press setups as necessary.
- Adjust process parameters as needed and maintain process history log.
- Setup tooling
- Start and process the mold
- Perform first piece inspection
- Transfer press to shift foreman who will assign an operator to the machine.
- Serve as a backup foreman as required and perform the same IQMS tasks as the foreman.
- Help supervisors with the training of new hires in the classroom and at the press.
- Provided additional training to other employees as required.
- Issue necessary work orders for molds, presses, equipment, and safety.
- Help optimize deflashing and assembly efficiencies by ensuring that good quality product is received at this operation.
- Perform process capability studies on new and existing processes as required
Abilities:
- Turn in written recommendations to update job cards to reflect process improvements, material and tooling changes with guidance from the Process Engineer and Shift Supervisor.
- Review and improve current setup procedures and train setup personnel on proper setup techniques.
- Interfaces with “Buyer” to order process supplies. i.e.: wax, vacuum seals and hoses, lubricants, fittings, etc.
- Maintains a safe environment in the plant supporting the company safety program
Skills/experience:
- Mechanically inclined
- Molding experience, specifically injection molding is preferred.
