Job Title: Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Location: Oakland, California (Hybrid/Flexible arrangements available)

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with at least one year of hands-on litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing their own caseload, from case inception through resolution, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle a full caseload independently, with minimal supervision
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions such as summary judgment
• Take and defend depositions
• Conduct legal research, write memoranda, and draft pleadings
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop litigation strategy
• Maintain attention to deadlines and detail throughout the litigation process

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of civil litigation experience
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• California Bar admission required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in insurance defense and/or public entity defense
• Federal court and trial experience a plus, but not required
