Intro
Spirehouse is recruiting a locum SEN Caseworker on behalf of a well-regarded Local Authority in Berkshire. This role offers the chance to support children and young people with the most complex SEND needs, working in a collaborative multi-agency environment.
The Opportunity
As an SEN Caseworker, you will be responsible for managing complex SEND casework and ensuring statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 are met. Key duties include:
· Manage complex SEN casework and multi-agency coordination
· Chair the SEN Assessment Panel and ensure high-quality plans are issued on time
· Represent the Local Authority at SEN Tribunals and prepare Statements of Case
· Advise and negotiate with schools on SEN responsibilities and admissions
· Contribute to SEN policy, process improvement, and service development

Requirements
· Experience in Local Authority SEN casework – Essential
· Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEN Code of Practice – Essential
· Experience drafting and quality-assuring EHC Plans – Essential
· SENDIST tribunal experience – Highly desirable
· Strong multi-agency partnership working – Essential
