Test Technician

Location: Hudson, NH

Contract: 12 months (likely to extend or convert to direct hire)

Schedule: 9/80 schedule; 8:00am start time

Compensation: $23-24/hour with optional benefits

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Test Technician to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our hardware products. This hands-on position involves testing, debugging, and executing procedures on a range of hardware components—including servers, switches, clocks, and power supplies—at test workstations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and a strong technical background in hardware testing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tests and inspections on hardware products, equipment, and systems according to established procedures and standards.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Record test data, observations, and results clearly and promptly.
  • Identify and document defects, malfunctions, or deviations from specifications.
  • Debug hardware and execute defined procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, recommend corrective actions, and collaborate with engineers and team members to analyze and improve test results.
  • Maintain and update test equipment, tools, and fixtures.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of test procedures and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Safely move, lift, and position test equipment using rolling carts; must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Test Technician or in a similar hardware testing role.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Linux
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of testing methodologies, especially for hardware.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and related tools.
  • Experience operating and testing servers, switches, clocks, and power supply equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for data recording and analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions with precision.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of quality control principles, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
