Physical Distribution Specialist

Location: Durham, NC (Research Triangle Park)

Contract: 12 months, with possible extension or direct hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Work Environment: Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite (typically Tuesday–Thursday); Monday and Friday remote

Compensation: $30–35/hour, with optional benefits

Overview

The Physical Distribution Specialist provides logistics support during S4Hanna integration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide SAP supply knowledge and support to both 3PL (Third Party Logistics) and company-operated warehouses
• Monitor and manage logistics group mailbox coverage
• Facilitate master data article extensions for the distribution and deployment network
• Assist with bulk in-house planning and inventory reconciliations
• Execute Stock Transport Orders (STO)
• Offer project support as needed
• Respond to ad-hoc data analysis requests

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• (Other disciplines considered with demonstrated successful supply chain experience)
• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, customer service, sales, production planning, SAP/ERP competency, or an equivalent role
• Mandatory: Strong experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Ability to conduct root cause problem solving
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., big data analysis, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus
