Position: Production Supervisor - Automotive Stamping
Location: Lansing, MI
Hours: Monday- Friday. Candidate needs to be flexible working any shift. Candidate will work a few Saturdays every month.

Pay: $42-45/hour
Position Summary:
The Stamping Production Group Leader will supervise a team of approximately 40 employees involved in stamping operations for major GM vehicle components. This leader will oversee safety, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment (SPQRCE), ensuring compliance with GM Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) standards. This is a high-impact role requiring strong collaboration, ownership, and people management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the effective use of personnel, equipment, and materials to meet production goals.
- Ensure a safe work environment through safety talks, incident investigations, and ergonomic evaluations.
- Promote standardized work, team member development, and positive labor relations in collaboration with UAW.
- Maintain records on performance, attendance, and departmental issues.
- Drive quality through problem-solving processes, customer communication, and corrective actions.
- Monitor cost efficiency, manage overtime, and ensure schedule adherence.
- Respond quickly to production demands and operational challenges.
- Collaborate with internal departments like Body Shop when necessary.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2–3 years of automotive manufacturing experience; stamping experience highly preferred.
- Strong computer skills including timekeeping and the ability to create visual performance reports (e.g., graphs).
- Effective communicator with strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to listen, adapt, and motivate.
- Ability to rotate shifts as needed.
