About Our Client

ErthSearch is working with OptiGrid, a venture-backed startup revolutionizing EV infrastructure. They build battery-based energy storage systems that provide ultrafast charging and resilient power alternatives, decentralized from the traditional grid to accelerate sustainable electrification.

The Role

We are looking for a Head of Electrical Engineering and Systems to lead the design, integration, and validation of next-gen power conversion systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a cross-functional team of 10-12 engineers while staying deep in the technical architecture of DC-DC converters, inverters, and BMS. You’ll be the bridge between hardware, embedded systems, and operational logistics, taking products from initial concept all the way through mass production.

Qualifications & Skills

Required 

• 10+ years of experience leading technical teams in power systems, hardware, or embedded environments.
• A proven track record of designing and shipping high-power conversion products (10 kW+ systems).
• Deep expertise in system-level architecture (DC-DC, inverters, BMS) and hardware/software integration.
• Mastery of design and simulation tools like Altium, PLECS, LTspice, or MATLAB/Simulink.
• A true startup mindset: you are hands-on, fast-moving, and obsessed with finding solutions to tough problems.



Nice to Have

• Experience managing relationships and production cycles with Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
• Familiarity with embedded development environments, flashing tools, and OTA update systems.
• Direct experience leading compliance and certification efforts (UL, CSA, FCC).
