This role has been created to give support the Finance Director in Spain in areas such as the implementation and development of internal controls specially, particularly those linked to expenditure and manufacturing cycles. Performing recurring analysis that contributes to cost reduction and optimisation of inventory levels.  



Responsibilities:


Business Analysis

 

  • Prepare monthly Customer GM analysis
  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Promote, Measure and reporting
  • Maintain and develop further production analysis, initiated with production costs absorption analysis
  • Inventory: Analyse and help reduce inventory (checking turnover, minimum balances for our needs) balancing OTIF/Customer satisfaction with WC
  • Inventory obsolescence: Implement reports that assist in preventing obsolescence or disposing of obsolete items (selling, returning to vendor or ultimately scrapping)
  • Support in implementing a recovery freight analysis per order/customer

 

Internal control and month end tasks


  • Implementation, documentation and follow up of Minimum Control Standards and internal procedures
  • Sales and COS reconciliation
  • Preparation of inventory and fixed assets section in monthly control file
  • Review of the other sections of control file
  • Review and support of capex preparation
  • Coordinate yearly Fixed asset inventory and keeping fixed asset register up-to-date
  • Review of PPV (Purchase Price Variance), keeping standard costs on both factored and manufactured items up-to-date, including yearly (or more frequently), review and recalculation
  • Review and supervise raw materials and FG (also ICO) purchases, challenging price (or corollary) increases and participating in looking for alternative vendors if necessary
  • Review credit notes list and check if they are duly authorized
  • Support in taxes


Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


  • Qualified Acccountant
  • Experience as an Industrial Controller in a manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of accounting processes in a company
  • Experience in external audit would be a plus
  • Analytical skills and clearly a system / IT and processes oriented
  • Experience with D365 (or Navision) would be highly desired.
  • Experience with internal controls in a multinational company
  • Ability to understand business processes and drivers
  • Comfortable using accounting packages, with a good understanding of systems and ability to understand data quickly
  • Advanced Excel skills to enable manipulation of multiple data sources to deliver detailed analytics
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Ability to overcome obstacles whilst remaining professional and motivated
