The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all supply chain functions at the site, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while optimizing procurement, contracting, sourcing, warehousing, inventory control, and logistics. This role focuses on driving operational excellence through effective people leadership, streamlined processes, robust systems, and strategic projects.
Overview:
- Achieving consistent and effective Supply Chain delivery at site level, across all the SC functional streams, prioritized in the right areas.
- Strong focus on Safety in terms of Site Warehousing Infrastructure and personnel, vendor deliveries, risk management and FRM (fatality risk management) compliance.
- Interface with internal customers, ensuring effective visibility of the SC vision and operating model, building, and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Ensuring that SC contributes fully to achieving site objectives, programs, and initiatives.
- The focal communication point for GM and site leadership teams on SC issues
- Communicating SC led initiatives, policies & procedures and explaining their impact at site, in particular Supplier Risk Management.
- People management of site-based SC staff
- Integration of buyers/ material planners working effectively with their site colleagues
- Oversight of bulks receiving & issuing
- Management of the sourcing process for site-specific contracts, for which there are no synergies across the multiple sites.
- Develop sourcing & portfolio management plans including sourcing project execution timelines, resource planning, savings targets.
- Responsible for driving sourcing & portfolio methodology change management at site level.
- Rationalize the selection of suppliers to optimize the Company's supply base; ensure strong working relationships with these suppliers are developed and maintained and provide direction to monitor and continually improve suppliers' performance.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the overall Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, in respect of Site operations.
- Develop the skills and abilities of direct reports through ongoing performance measurement and feedback.
- Provide career guidance and act as a champion and mentor for all resources in the supply chain organization at Site.
Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee end-to-end procurement, contracting, and sourcing activities, ensuring cost-effective and compliant purchasing.
- Implement and manage contract lifecycle management (CLM) to enhance vendor performance and risk mitigation.
- Drive warehouse management and inventory control best practices to optimize stock levels and minimize downtime.
- Ensure efficient logistics operations, including inbound/outbound freight, transportation, and distribution.
- Leverage technology and ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) to enhance visibility and control over supply chain activities.
- Support data-driven decision-making through analytics, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Lead and support key initiatives, including:
- Integrated Demand Planning with operations and maintenance teams to improve forecasting and inventory management.
- Contract Lifecycle Management to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.
- Cost Optimization Programs to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Drive standardization and process improvements across the site supply chain functions

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (master's preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain management within a heavy industry, mining, manufacturing, or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Expertise in procurement, contracting, warehouse operations, and logistics.
- Hands-on experience with ERP and supply chain systems (SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Coupa, or similar).
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
