Senior Project Accountant


We are looking for a Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This role is essential to support project development and operational readiness of the Owner’s Team. The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day project accounting functions, including invoice processing, cost tracking, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and coordination with the site and corporate finance teams.


Responsibilities


·        Establish and maintain cost control systems aligned with the Company’s standards while integrating EPCM reporting formats.

·        Track commitments, expenditures, accruals, and forecast-to-complete for all project work packages.

·        Reconcile EPCM cost reports with Owner’s internal accounting systems on a monthly basis.

·        Monitor compliance with Delegation of Authority (DoA) levels for financial approvals.

·        Collaborate with the Project Controls team to ensure alignment between the project budget, control budget, and accounting records.

·        Interface with EPCM contractor’s accounting representatives to reconcile and validate cost and invoice data.

·        Review EPCM purchase requisitions and purchase orders to ensure compliance with The Company’s policies.

·        Coordinate issuance of The Company’s-approved purchase orders, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and documentation.

·        Maintain register of contracts and purchase orders with status of commitments, changes, and payments.

·        Track change orders and ensure timely reflection in project cost forecasts.

·        Support the preparation of documentation for funding requests, capital authorizations, and internal project governance processes.

·        Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses for The Company’s management.

·        Support preparation of project budget updates, re-forecasts, and financial presentations for steering committee and site management.

·        Provide early warning of potential cost overruns or schedule-driven cost impacts.

·        Support tracking of commitments and accruals across all active contracts and purchase orders.

·        Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies between commitments, accruals, and actual costs.

·        Ensure financial records, invoices, and supporting documentation are complete and audit-ready.

·        Assist with external/internal audits, ensuring transparency in EPCM and The Company’s cost reporting.

·        Monitor tax, duty, and regulatory compliance in procurement and vendor payments.


Qualifications


·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

·        A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required.

·        CPA designation preferred.

·        Strong understanding of EPCM contracts, cost control, and procurement processes required.

·        Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/project accounting systems required.

·        Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

·        Must possess a valid driver’s license.
