Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate CSC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality psychiatric care to children and adults at risk for or experiencing early signs of psychosis. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop and execute individualized treatment plans, and ensure the ongoing monitoring and documentation of care—all while working collaboratively within our Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) team. This position offers a flexible remote/hybrid work arrangement, with the opportunity to contribute to continuous quality improvement across our CSC program.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Treatment:
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess mental health conditions and identify early psychosis symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the CSC team.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychopharmacological interventions according to best practices and Medi-Cal/MediCare guidelines.
• Provide ongoing clinical monitoring and follow-up care to ensure effective treatment and patient safety.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance:
• Work closely with multidisciplinary team members—including psychiatrists, mental health clinicians, and family specialists—to ensure cohesive, high-quality patient care.
• Participate actively in quality assurance initiatives, ensuring that clinical documentation, treatment plans, and outcomes meet regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by contributing to the development and refinement of clinical protocols and training programs.
Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medi-Cal/MediCare, and other regulatory requirements through accurate and timely documentation (within 72 hours as needed).
• Engage in regular team meetings, clinical consultations, and training sessions to remain updated on evolving best practices.
Minimum Requirements
• Licensure & Certification:
• Active, valid California license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• National Certification as a PMHNP.
• Experience:
• A minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience in psychiatric care, with at least 1 year in a Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) or early psychosis intervention program.
• Proven expertise in conducting psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and managing psychopharmacology.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Medi-Cal/MediCare documentation requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data-driven quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with children and adolescents experiencing early signs of psychosis.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Familiarity with CSC program best practices and emerging treatment modalities.
Work Environment
• This role is primarily remote/hybrid with occasional onsite visits if required by business needs.
