A great design/build client in Houston, that serves educational, industrial, and commercial sectors across the United States.

 

Role Overview:

 

As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for coordinating project budgeting, preparing quantity surveys, obtaining subcontractor pricing, and ensuring compliance with project scopes. This role demands delivering accurate and timely estimates for various construction projects, effective communication with trade partners, and managing prequalification processes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

•         Prepare detailed material and labor take-offs/estimates.

•         Solicit material prices and verify unit/system prices.

•         Prepare bid invitations and subcontractor bid packages.

•         Create scope bid packages for subcontractors.

•         Manage the bid process, including RFI preparation and bid day activities.

•         Maintain up-to-date records of bids and manage turnover meetings.

•         Attend site visits and confirm local building permit rates.

 

Requirements:

 

•         Degree in Business or Construction Management or equivalent experience (preferred, not required)

•         5+ years of estimating experience.

•         Proficiency in software like Timberline, Bluebeam, or HCSS HeavyBid.

•         Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

•         Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team.
