Overview:


A leading multi-discipline engineering firm is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Department Manager to lead and expand its civil engineering team in Charlotte, NC.


This opportunity is suited for a professional who is driven by community impact and has a strong background in land development and infrastructure design!

 

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the design development and contract document preparation for various projects including commercial, residential, industrial, and public facility developments.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring satisfaction through excellent communication and by meeting project budgets and timelines.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and project managers, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of engineering practice.
  • Drive business development activities, actively participating in community and professional events to promote firm growth.
  • Ensure quality control in all aspects of project development from site planning to construction document preparation.
  • Coordinate with other department managers and team members to ensure seamless project execution.

 

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer Registration required (North Carolina and South Carolina preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management, specifically in land development.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring teams and managing multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software (hands-on design not required).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent skills in financial management, client relations, and business development.
