A leading surveying and mapping firm in the Illinois area is looking for a qualified Professional Land Surveyor / Senior Project Manager. This role is integral to supporting a range of land development projects across various sectors including infrastructure, utility, and energy.


Job Overview


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing land survey services and projects from start to finish. This includes overseeing the research, fieldwork, CAD processing, and project management stages, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to project timelines.


Qualifications


• Must be a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois (or ability to obtain within a short period of starting, PLS preferred)

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in various surveying activities.

• At least 2 years' experience in project management.

• Proficiency in AutoCad Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.


Responsibilities and Duties


• Efficiently handle multiple tasks and projects within tight deadlines.

• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in project completion.

• Manage multiple assignments with competing priorities.

• Collaborate with senior project managers on a range of projects.

• Prepare and oversee project budgets, ensuring adherence to contract scopes.

• Maintain positive client and team relationships.

• Keep senior management updated on project statuses.

• Liaise with other disciplines and subcontractors.

• Strengthen existing client relationships and develop new ones.

• Manage billing for projects, including additional services.


Skill Set Required


The role requires managing, performing, or supervising various aspects of land surveying, including but not limited to:


• ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, subdivisions, as-builts, easements, dedication plats, and legal descriptions.
