Overview:


A leading multi-discipline engineering design and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their dynamic team.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, specifically in land development and infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal projects within a collaborative team environment.

 

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with team members to perform civil site/land development design, permitting, and construction observation.
  • Design land development projects using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Prepare technical design calculations, including hydraulic sizing for storm drainage systems, water distribution modeling, and other infrastructure elements.
  • Mentor and provide training to junior team members.
  • Conduct technical reviews of drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to ensure compliance with project goals and requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, staff schedules, and assist with project management duties.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, review agencies, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Facilitate meetings and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits and generate comprehensive field reports.
  • Oversee various field testing activities to ensure project specifications are met.

 

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering design and project management.
  • PE Licensure or the ability to obtain within 3 months preferred, especially in North Carolina.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software such as Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
