Appellate Associate

Our partner is seeking an Appellate Associate with 2–5 years of experience for its downtown St. Petersburg, Florida office.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience handling first-party property or insurance defense matters, with a strong interest in appellate practice. This position will involve working closely with partners to manage complex litigation and develop appellate strategies.


The role includes drafting appellate briefs and motions, analyzing trial records, researching complex legal issues, and presenting oral arguments as needed. In addition, the associate will have opportunities to contribute to case management at the trial level, including depositions, discovery, motion practice, mediations, and hearings.


The successful candidate will be a well-organized self-starter capable of managing multiple matters and deadlines independently while keeping supervising attorneys and clients informed of case status.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Florida
  • 2–5 years of litigation experience (first-party property, insurance defense, or appellate preferred)
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
