The Mechanical/HVAC Designer Position

The Mechanical/HVAC Designer is responsible for updating design documents based on markups from Project Managers, Estimators, and Fabrication Shop personnel. The Mechanical/HVAC Designer has a solid understanding of engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and the ability to produce accurate functional drawings.

 

Key responsibilities include exporting models to DWG and other formats for collaboration, creating rough layouts or models and performing calculations for angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, clearances, tolerance, leverages, and hole locations.

 

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Mechanical/HVAC Designer Position

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree, or completion of a trade school program, preferably in engineering, construction, or surveying
  • 3 years of design and coordination experience, with field experience in the construction industry is preferred
  • Revit/Navisworks Manage knowledge
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Fabrication CADMEP, and Trimble VDC Pro+
  • Experience with document management tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid, Autodesk Build and ACC
  • Field experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Knowledge of fabrication methods, processes, and Lean Construction or Manufacturing principles preferred
