Position Summary
Intervene K-12 is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Curriculum and Instruction Specialist with a strong background in classroom teaching, instructional coaching, and English Language Learner (ELL) instruction. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator who bridges curriculum design and hands-on Teacher/ Tutor coaching to ensure instructional excellence and measurable student growth. This individual will play a pivotal role in developing high-quality ELL curricula, training and coaching Teachers/ Tutors, and ensuring instructional delivery that meets district and state standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teacher /Tutor Coaching & Instructional Quality
• Lead ongoing tutor/ teacher coaching cycles that focus on ELL pedagogy, classroom engagement strategies, and data-informed instruction.
• Conduct observation, feedback, and calibration sessions to strengthen Teacher/ Tutor instructional quality and consistency.
• Design and facilitate professional learning for Teacher/ Tutors and instructional staff on topics including scaffolding, academic language development, and culturally responsive teaching.
• Partner with Teacher/ Tutor operations and academic leadership to ensure curriculum fidelity and effective lesson execution.
• Develop tools, rubrics, and models for monitoring and improving Teacher/ Tutor instructional impact.
2. Curriculum Design & ELL Content Development
• Co-develop language development and literacy curricula aligned with WIDA, TELPAS, and other state standards.
• Design instructional units, progress monitoring tools, and assessments that promote ELL language proficiency and academic achievement.
• Ensure materials incorporate best practices in language acquisition, scaffolding, and differentiation.
• Collaborate with content teams to integrate ELL supports across all subject areas.
3. Data-Driven Instructional Improvement
• Analyze ELL student performance data to identify strengths, gaps, and trends in language proficiency and literacy growth.
• Use insights to refine instructional strategies, pacing, and scaffolds to drive measurable student outcomes.
• Support QA processes to ensure data informs both curriculum design and Teacher/ Tutor coaching.
4. Partnership & Market Engagement
• Serve as an instructional thought leader in partner conversations, customer calls, and webinars on ELL and teaching/ tutoring best practices.
• Build relationships with district ELL leaders to align offerings with district priorities and accountability frameworks.
• Represent Intervene K-12 in conferences, panels, and public forums highlighting multilingual learner success.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of K–12 classroom teaching experience, ideally with multilingual learners.
• Proven success as an Instructional Coach, Lead Teacher, or Curriculum Specialist with demonstrated ability to develop educator capacity.
• Expertise in ELL instruction, literacy development, and language acquisition frameworks (WIDA, TELPAS, ELPAC ELPA21).
• Experience working in or supporting Title I or high-need schools preferred.
