Contract: 6 months (possible extension or direct hire)

Schedule: 9/80 schedule; 7:30 AM start time

Compensation: $16–18/hour + optional benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k)

Requirement: Must have experience with Oracle (ERP system) for Receiving

Materials Handler (AS9100 Certified)


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and AS9100-certified Materials Handler to join our team. In this role, you will manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials—playing a key part in efficient inventory control, accurate documentation, and compliance with AS9100 quality management standards. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and comprehensive knowledge of the AS9100 standard.

Key Responsibilities


Materials Management

  • Receive incoming materials, verify contents against documentation, and inspect for quality and accuracy.
  • Properly label materials for storage or distribution, ensuring compliance with AS9100 requirements.
  • Conduct inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels, reconcile discrepancies, and report issues promptly.
  • Implement appropriate storage techniques to preserve and protect materials, ensuring compliance with handling and environmental standards.


Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Maintain detailed records of all incoming and outgoing materials, including quantities, lot numbers, serial numbers, and other relevant data.
  • Create and update material handling documents (packing lists, bills of lading, inventory reports).
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and AS9100-compliant documentation.


AS9100 Compliance

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of AS9100 requirements, ensuring all material handling activities are compliant.
  • Participate in AS9100 audits and inspections, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to meet or exceed AS9100 standards.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and other teams to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.


Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with procurement, production, and quality assurance to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding material status, shortages, and delivery schedules.
  • Support other departments as needed by fulfilling material requests and maintaining workflow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications/education preferred)
  • Experience with Oracle (ERP System)
  • Proven experience as a Materials Handler or similar role, ideally in aerospace or manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 requirements with evidence of practical implementation
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Proficient with inventory management software and documentation processes
  • Physical ability and safety awareness to lift/move heavy materials and operate equipment
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement is a plus
