Role: Strategic Finance Lead
Location: Mountain View, CA (In-Office)
Salary/Compensation: $120k – $165k base + equity
Our client is a frontier AI company building ethical AI infrastructure for voice generation and deepfake detection. Backed by $23M from strategic investors including Google, Sony, Okta, and In-Q-Tel (CIA), they serve government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and law enforcement. Their mission is to ensure trust and authenticity in the generative AI era.
With unique dual capabilities in AI voice generation and detection, they occupy a defensible market position in an emerging sector where deepfake security is becoming critical.
Position Overview:
The Strategic Finance Lead will build the financial foundation that drives the company’s next growth phase. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role combines financial modeling, strategic decision-making, and investor partnership. You’ll translate financial insight into action—helping the company scale to $50M+ ARR while supporting Series B/C fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build financial models forecasting revenue, expenses, cash flow, and growth scenarios
- Partner with leadership on pricing, market expansion, hiring, and capital allocation
- Prepare board materials, fundraising decks, and maintain investor relationships
- Establish scalable financial processes, systems, and controls
- Develop financial narratives and data rooms for fundraising
- Track and analyze key SaaS and tech metrics to guide strategic decisions
Qualifications:
✅ You likely fit if you:
- Have 2–3 years in tech coverage investment banking, venture capital, or strategic finance with deal execution exposure
- Have built financial models from first principles and translated them into strategic insights
- Understand SaaS metrics, AI company unit economics, and startup growth dynamics
- Have operating or technical experience in a small-to-medium tech company (<500 people)
- Can bridge finance and technical teams—credibility with both investors and engineers
- Are comfortable working in ambiguity and building financial infrastructure from scratch
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and are motivated by equity upside
- Are passionate about ethical AI and protecting truth in the generative era
- Are comfortable working with government, enterprise, and law enforcement clients
