Accounting Manager

We are hiring an Accounting Manager to take ownership of the company’s balance sheet integrity and account reconciliation framework. This role is responsible for managing reconciliation activity across the organization, reinforcing internal control standards, and ensuring timely issue identification and resolution. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, experience with control-driven environments, and the ability to organize, communicate, and lead process execution in a deadline-driven setting.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end monthly account reconciliation cycle, including preparation oversight, review, investigation, and resolution of reconciling items in accordance with internal control requirements
  • Perform detailed balance and activity reviews to identify anomalies, errors, or required adjustments and ensure they are addressed promptly
  • Develop, update, and maintain reconciliation procedures, policies, and supporting documentation
  • Serve as the owner of the organization’s account reconciliation standards and methodology
  • Train and guide accounting team members on reconciliation expectations, best practices, and policy application
  • Evaluate current systems and workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and control enhancements
  • Support monthly close execution, cross-functional initiatives, and special analyses as requested

People Management

This position includes supervisory responsibility and is accountable for team leadership in line with company policies and applicable regulations. Duties may include hiring, onboarding, assigning work, coaching performance, conducting reviews, and addressing employee matters as they arise.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred but not required
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to public accounting or audit environments
  • Demonstrated experience developing accounting policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Proven background in internal controls, balance sheet governance, and process ownership
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
