We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Light Commercial market sector. This position is responsible for assisting with the electrical design on a variety of projects, managing project schedules, budgets, and teams, and ensuring the highest quality of work is maintained. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in innovative problem-solving, and contribute to the advancement of the built environment. This role is located in Austin, Texas and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed in accordance with project specifications, on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standard
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development by sharing industry knowledge, offering technical support, and encouraging best practices in engineering
  • Manage project teams, assigning tasks, and overseeing work to ensure quality and adherence to timelines and budgets
  • Monitor project financial performance, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability
  • Serve as point of contact for clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for various electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design process, obtaining necessary approvals and permits as required
  • Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure electrical systems are seamlessly integrated with all other aspects of building designs
  • Attend project site visits and meetings as needed for project development, design reviews, and construction administration

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited university
  • Professional Engineer License in Texas
  • Significant experience in electrical engineering within the MEP industry, with a proven track record of successful project management
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems design principles and methodologies, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems
  • Knowledge of electrical practices and standards, including but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IESNA, IECC, and IEEE regulations
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, establish milestones, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality electrical drawings and models
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, other regulatory authorities to achieve project objectives and deliver successful outcomes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
