Client Manager - Public Works (Water Resources)

Job Summary:

The Client Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls engineering projects from concept through design and construction. The Client Manager ensures project goals and objectives are accomplished and quality standards are met within established timeframes and funding constraints.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Marketing to new and existing public-sector clients within the Company’s target markets.
  • RFP, RFQ and other proposal preparation.
  • Maintain integrity-based client relationships.
  • Maintain and update design budgets.
  • Collaboration with the Project Accountant on invoicing and collections.
  • Manage change orders for additional services.
  • Industry knowledge of the design documents associated with Civil/Site/Land Development, Public Works stormwater projects, and Public Works utility projects.
  • Directs projects through the design process, including collaboration with Project Managers/Leads.
  • Meet company performance metrics.
  • Active within professional organizations.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Business development experience.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
  • Active Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • At least 10 years of related experience required.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred.
