Job Description

The VP, Executive Creative Director is the senior-most creative leader at Equinox, responsible for building and running a modern, high-performance creative organization that keeps the brand culturally ahead while delivering at real operational scale. This role is designed for a builder—someone who can design creative systems, scale output without sacrificing taste, and lead teams that operate with speed, clarity, and accountability. The VP, ECD sets the creative bar and builds the engine beneath it. They bring deep creative taste, AI fluency, and operational discipline—ensuring Equinox consistently shows up with relevance, velocity, and authority across brand, social, content, experience, and performance-driven channels. This leader connects creativity directly to business outcomes, cultural impact and audience growth—without losing what makes the brand aspirational.

Core Responsibilities


Creative Leadership & Output

• Own and evolve Equinox’s creative expression across brand, social, digital, in-club, experiential, and campaign work

• Set a clear creative point of view that balances provocation, discipline, and commercial impact

• Ensure bold brand ideas show up consistently in everyday execution—not just hero moments

• Drive relevance and velocity across social and content ecosystems


Building & Running the In-House Creative Engine

• Design, build, and lead a high-performing in-house creative organization structured for scale and speed

• Establish pod-based models, workflows, and decision frameworks that enable clarity and accountability

• Introduce modern creative operations, including AI-assisted tools and emerging production models

• Increase output, reduce dependency on external agencies, and improve time-to-market

• Hold the organization accountable to measurable standards of quality, speed, and effectiveness


Brand Systems & Evolution

• Translate brand belief into living creative systems that evolve with culture and platforms

• Ensure consistency without stagnation—protecting the core while pushing the edges

• Continuously evolve how the brand shows up across channels as behaviors and platforms shift


Culture, Relevance & Innovation

• Actively shape cultural conversations rather than simply responding to them

• Keep the brand ahead of aesthetic, platform, and format shifts—especially in social and emerging channels

• Decide where the brand plays, where it pushes, and where it stays disciplined

• Use creativity to create cultural distinction and competitive advantage


Team Leadership & Performance

• Build an elite, multidisciplinary creative team built for in-house velocity

• Set ambitious performance standards and hold teams accountable to outcomes

• Develop leaders who can operate independently, move fast, and scale impact

• Create a culture of ownership, clarity, and high expectations


Qualifications

• Senior creative leadership experience at a premium, luxury, or culturally influential brand

• Proven ability to build and scale in-house creative organizations

• Experience blending brand storytelling, social content, and experiential design

• Comfortable operating at the intersection of creativity, technology, and performance

• Strong executive presence with CMOs, CEOs, and cross-functional leaders


Required Experience

• 15+ years of creative leadership experience

• Experience running or transforming an in-house creative function

• Track record of increasing creative output, speed, and relevance

• Strong understanding of social-first ecosystems and digital platforms

• AI fluency and openness to new creative production models

• Ability to operate strategically while staying close to execution
