Scope of position
The Maintenance Manager leads all plant maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and seamless coordination with other departments. This role is key to producing high-quality products efficiently, cost-effectively, and on schedule—while aligning with company policies, customer expectations, and plant goals.
Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance: Enforce all company policies, safety regulations, GMPs, and recognized best practices.
Leadership & Communication:
- Participate in plant staff, shift, and safety meetings.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and training based on identified needs.
- Engage in operational planning to support plant objectives.
Operational Excellence:
- Develop new processes to boost manufacturing efficiency and lower costs.
- Collaborate with Engineering on machinery and system upgrades to improve performance.
- Diagnose equipment issues, implement preventative measures, and eliminate recurring breakdowns.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Oversee the maintenance budget to ensure efficient use of funds.
- Reduce repetitive purchases by addressing root causes.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance personnel to achieve department goals.
Vendor & Project Management:
- Meet with vendors and visitors to evaluate solutions.
- Lead special projects that impact other functional areas.
- Travel requirement: up to 25%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and maintenance experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment with proven leadership ability.
